Ferrari Rolls Out New 612 Scaglietti

Ferrari officially premieres today in North America the 2008 612 Scaglietti, the model used to inaugurate the new One-to-One Personalization Program of the Company. Ferrari intends to allow every client to fully personalize this flagship model, courtesy of a wide array of new content as well as the options available through the Carrozzeria Scaglietti Programme. In fact, a special dedicated "atelier" area has been set up at the factory, where clients can put together their own bespoke 612 Scaglietti accessory by accessory, detail by detail. In exactly the same way as they would at an haute couture fashion house, owners can choose details and materials they want for their car in consultation with the Ferrari experts who will actually build it to their exact specifications and tastes.

Ferrari threatens legal action against 360 owner

When is a Ferrari no longer a Ferrari? When an owner adds 6-ft of metalwork between the front and back of the prancing stallion, according to Ferrari lawyers. The UK's Times Online reports:

Dan Cawley, 36, of Cheadle, Manchester, has 14 days to remove all prancing horse badges, Ferrari names and “360 Modena” symbols from the 6m (20ft) car. “What kind of precedent does it set when you can’t do what you like with your own property?” asked Mr Cawley.

Ferrari Challenge Opens 2008 Season

The North American Ferrari Challenge Series 2008 season opener took place on March 6-9 at Miami's Homestead Speedway. No results have been posted as of press time.

      

Now in its 15th racing season in the U.S., the Ferrari Challenge Series (utilizing race-prepared F430 Challenge vehicles) offers Ferrari owners the opportunity to compete against other Ferrari owners in a highly competitive racing series at world-class venues throughout the U.S. and Canada, and is regarded as the longest-running series of its type in North America.

No word on whether they'll risk humiliation in open competition against Miatas.
