Driving Sports #205: Isle of Man STI

Join host Ryan Douthit on a trip through Ireland and to the Isle of Man for a lap of a lifetime on the legendary TT course with a stock 2013 STI Type UK. Episode includes special guest Mark Higgins, the brother of Subaru Rally Team driver David Higgins and current record holder of the IOM TT course.

Mark Higgins holds the world record from 2011 in a Subaru WRX STI where he averaged a speed of 115.36 across the entire 37.75-mile course. In 2014 he is attempting to improve on his 2011 record by racing a 2015 WRX STI around the course.

Very enjoyable little video. Ryan is a lucky guy to be able to drive the TT, and Mark Higgins is a gentleman not to show him up. A beautiful setting for exciting racing.

The Impreza is not expensive at all for what the car is capable of…and the base model does not start at 33,000 dollars. The starting price of the Impreza WRX STi is 36,000 in the US. And in England: 24,000 pounds.

It would be great if they actually had a driver who had excessive race experience to be the driver in this show, versus a smarmy Magic the Gathering semi-enthusiast. Listening to this guy narrate and drive is like watching Mister Rogers profess an ability to drive and listen to him talk about it at the same time.
