Forget the Prius, I want a Flivverette!
Recently, Google partnered with a number of magazines to offer complete back-issue catalogs online. For car fans, this collection of Popular Science is a tresure trove of automotive history. For example, way back in 1920 PopSci featured the Flivverette, the smallest electric car in the world. "It will carry you for less money than even the trolly" and when you arrive at your destination, a specialized garage will "stack" your car into cubbies. Issues span from the first ever, published May 1872, all the way to February 2008. Almost a hundred years later and we still can't produce a cheap electric car. [TechCrunch]
