Driving Sports TV - Season 1

Exclusive Automotive Videos and Reviews

Think you can drive? Care to prove it?

OK hot shoes, here's your chance to show the world just what you can do-assuming you have a spare $50-Large burning a hole in your pocket.

A group is developing its own reality TV show in which amateur drivers will haul ass on closed public roads. Participants get to race a Ferrari, a Porsche, and an AMG Mercedes on a minimum of 6 and maximum of 13 closed public roads throughout the USA. The organizers assure us that the roads will be good ones.

The producers are looking for 50 participants and 10 alternates. Each participant will get three runs in each vehicle on each designated course over a two day period. Competitors will also have a chance to run their own cars in a time trial for additional prizes.

The lucky winner gets to pick one Ferrari, one Porsche, and one AMG Benz to keep. Second place takes home two cars, and the third place finisher picks one car to call his own.

Of course there's a catch. There's always a catch. In this case, you have to pony up $50,000 to reserve your spot on the show. That doesn't include food or lodging, either. But the organizers point out, "If you break one of our cars you don't have to buy it." Good news, we agree, since they're only testing your wallet, rather than your skills, to be on the show.

We've contacted the team putting this together and it certainly seems like a legit event for those with the wherewithal. Though, until a TV network is signed on, it may be reaching to call it a "Reality TV Show."

They're looking for participants now, and want money in hand and contracts signed in the next few weeks.

  1. Is this show coming from a trusted source? Sounds like a scam...not sure I understand what the 50K is for.
