DevToaster Rev 2.0 for iPhone

While walking the floor at SEMA 2009, my eyes were drawn to an oversized iPhone display. It was cycling through a collection of gauges and showing off live trackday data. I had to find out more.

Ah, yes, Rev. This is an app from a small development company out of San Francisco called Dev Toaster. Rev just hit version 2.0 and now features quite the list of features: real-time speed, RPM, fuel consumption, fuel pressure, engine coolant temperature, throttle position, boost, and the list goes on.

Though the application is available both as a free "lite" version and as a stand-alone "full" version ($39 from the app store), the magic really happens when it's paired with an OBD-II WiFi transmitter, such as the the Kiwi WiFi from PLX ($149). This setup gives you all the live interaction with your car, allows you to clear CEL codes and more.

We're certainly intrigued, and will have a full review of Rev 2.0 soon.
