Conan Presents the Bugatti Mouse (Video!)
Even if you were under the influence of illegal substances on Wednesday night and you tuned in to NBC's Tonight Show, what you saw was very real and not a hallucination. Yes, that was a Bugatti Veyron dressed up as a mouse.
Thanks to Conan O'Brien's ongoing dispute with NBC and his eminent departure from the storied entertainment program in the wake of a NBC/Jay Leno kerfluffle, the gloves are off and O'Brien is going out swinging.
"This is the most expensive comedy bit ever," said an obviously delighted O'Brien, as he stood next to the world's most expensive production car dressed as a rodent. To top it off, the car was blaring "Satisfaction" from the Rolling Stones. "Is it crazy expensive to play [this song] on the air? Not to mention the rights to re-air this clip? Hell yes!"
Conan finished the segment by gleefully stating, "Total price tag for this comedy bit: 1.5 Million Dollars! Sorry NBC!"
With O'Brien's departure looming (it's been floated that Friday is his last program) he's managed to bring in viewers while at the same time making a mockery of the network that signs his check. Meanwhile, Leno is just making weak innuendo and joking about Letterman's infidelity as his own "experimental" show wraps up.
An original Ford SHO and a costumed Veyron? Someone get Conan a car show.

For those who are too young - or were too uninterested, at the time - to recall, it might help to get some background on this story. Read all about how Leno acquired The Tonight Show gig, back in 1993.
