Prodrive Announces Group N Impreza for 2010

prodrive-subaru-impreza-n2010-fqBritish world rally car producer Prodrive is now selling a 2010 model year Group N Subaru Impreza WRX STI rally car.  The car is designed to compete in the 2010 P-WRC class. In accordance with the shifting FIA rules, the 2.0-liter STI engine is now allowed a 33mm intake restrictor, bigger fuel injectors, and a custom ECU reflash.

In addition to the usual Prodrive rally car improvements, the N2010 Impreza gets a nice Ohlins rally suspension. Prodrive claims a 20 horsepower improvement over the stock 2.0-liter JDM STI from the engine mods. That might not sound like much – because it's not – but Group N cars are kept quite close to stock. They are closer to Production GT cars in American rally rules.

But if this sounds like your kind of rally weapon, just be ready to lay out 120,000 English Pounds for the ride – that's $195,936 U.S. dollars at today's exchange rate. That's just chump change for the finest Group N rally car in the world...that would get its ass kicked by Open class cars in the Rally America series. Still, it's nice to look at.
