Top Gear Season 14: Best Road in the World (Romania)

Though nothing quite matches the original UK airings of Top Gear (better music and a complete news segment) BBC America will start serving up Season 14 of the epically awesome series on March 15 at 8pm (ET/PT).

Prior to this season kicking off, producer Andy Wilman did allude to budget cuts forcing some restraint on part of the cast and crew. Unfortunately, it showed: Season 14 is much weaker overall than Season 13.

Highlights include Richard's airport vehicle test from Episode 4 (airing April 5) and the Romania road trip from Episode 1. Of course, having seen every episode of the show since its reboot 14 years ago (as well as some of the older episodes) we have an unnaturally elevated opinion on the matter. Still, even the worst episode of Top Gear is significantly better than the best episode of Motorweek.

For fans waiting on an American version of Top Gear, production is rumored to be moving forward once more. Adam Carolla is still in the position of the resident loudmouth (according to Adam Carolla), but stunt man Tanner Foust and pretty-boy carpenter Eric Stromer are reportedly out.

Based on past conversations with sources inside production, Stromer was a last-minute decision that came down from NBC, apparently wanting to appeal to the ladies (Stromer was included in People Magazine's 50 sexiest guys in 2003.) So it's not surprising that they're re-casting with The Peacock now out of the picture.
